Five boats from Quebec challenging in the 2019 LO300

With the start of the 2019 Lake Ontario 300 Challenge less than one week away, the field is shaping up to be another exciting event with lots of rivalries in more than one division.

Of note is this year’s ‘invasion’ from Quebec:

Welcome back Zoe II, the Beneteau First 40 from Yacht-Club de Québec, skippered by Francois Brassard. Zoe II was on the podium in 2013, the first year IRC was added to this race.

Zoe II is joined in IRC by Hydromec, the Farr 40 from Club Nautique du Vieux-Port de Québec (CNVP), skippered by Dave Savard. Both yachts are excellent additions to the IRC fleet and worthy competitors for the Sperry Gold Cup

.

Also from Yacht-Club de Québec is Angéline I, a First 30 skippered by François Droüin, as well as Predictable, C&C 29 skippered by Marc Villeneuve who will be competing in PHRF – FS-FC.

From Hudson Yacht Club is Stella Maris, a Hobbie 33 skippered by Lee Grant. Stella Maris may be the first ever boat competing in the LO300 from HYC.

With the water being as high as it is, you know it was a trek to get down here against the current of the St. Lawrence. Probably an interesting journey in itself!

Let’s all take time to welcome our visitors from Quebec at this year’s pre-race activities.
