The Team Challenge is generously sponsored by Pat Sturgeon Yachts.
The 2019 Lake Ontario 300 Challenge will be contributing more to Junior Learn to Sail programs in the GTA thanks to the generosity of Pat Sturgeon Yachts.
The winners of the Lake Ontario 300 Team Challenge for 2019 are:
Main Duck Course: Whitby yacht Club
Moxie - Peter Smith; Razorbill - David Veenstra; Viking - Michael Scurr
Scotch Bonnet Course: Royal Canadian Yacht Club
Doralla - Kirk Allen; Katbird - Kathleen Timmis
Since the inception of the Lake Ontario 300 Challenge, portions of the race proceeds have been donated to Junior Learn to Sail as part of the Deed of Gift. The Team Challenge was created to provide an avenue to dispense funds to Junior programs at a wider range of clubs participating in the Challenge. The Team Challenge also provides an excellent inter club competition within the Lake Ontario 300 Challenge helping to determine the supreme offshore racing club.
Registration for this year’s Team Challenge Event is as easy as talking to your fellow club racers and agree to be a team.
Send an email with your team boats and team name to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject LO300 Team Challenge.
Main Duck teams are 3 boat teams;
Scotch Bonnet teams are 2 boat teams.
Boats must be registered and paid for the division you are registering a team for. (i.e. white sail boats cannot be on a Main Duck Team)
Enter in as many teams from the same club as you wish.
Winning teams will be presented with the Team Challenge Trophy and will have a keeper trophy to take to their home club with their respective donations.
If your cub does not have a Junior Learn to Sail program, no worries, you can list on your entry email the club that your winnings will be used for.
